Technical support services for external conference organisers

We strongly recommend that you book a pre-event training consultation for your support team. Our technical support staff will meet with your team, in your booked venues, and provide hands-on training to ensure that you are familiar with the installed equipment, and the best means of utilising this equipment. In our experience this training consultation will save you a great deal of pain during the actual event. Training is best conducted one to two weeks before the event – we need to receive your booking request at least one month before your event. There is no charge for this service.

Consider booking dedicated technical support for your event. Qualified technicians can support University installed multimedia equipment at your event. We need to receive your booking request at least one month before the event. Additional fees apply for this service.

  • We regret to advise that technical support for external conferences will not be available in February and March 2012, as we are required to give priority to the University’s internal needs
  • University venues are primarily designed for University teaching and do not offer all the amenities of convention centres
  • The University is currently undertaking a major program of redevelopment across many buildings and this will inevitably impact upon your conference planning for all events in 2012. Please seek further advice from the Venue Hiring Office when you make your bookings
  • We do not provide technical support for any computers & multimedia equipment supplied by third parties (e.g. external audio-visual hire companies).
  • We do not provide portable equipment hire.
  • We are no longer able to provide an event recording service for external clients of the University. This includes our automated lecture capture service (Lectopia/Echo360) and our customised video production service. Our priority for both of these services is striving to meet growing internal demand.
